It is with the greatest honor we celebrate Anthony (Tony) Dougherty, PE for being named the 2024 Pennsylvania Society of Professional Engineers (PSPE)’s Engineer of the Year! Mr. Dougherty is Vice President of TPD’s Construction Services Department and has been an active member of PSPE for over 20 years, holding various chapter board positions, including President and State Director. He currently serves on an Advisory Board for a PSPE grant program designed to educate and encourage graduating engineering students to take the FE Exam and embark on the path toward professional licensure.
Mr. Dougerty’s dedication to PSPE and the engineering profession at-large is quite rare. He has laid the foundation of his career on the venerable pillars of mentoring, service and the advancement of the industry. He has curated a well-rounded set of strengths, ranging from roadway engineering to construction services, project and team management, advocacy for safety and education, and mentorship. His mentorship extends past his Department members to other coworkers, fellow industry members, and even college students as a former Widener University adjunct professor. He has helped shape the landscape of the profession through his participation in several advocacy organizations, including the American Council of Engineering Companies of Pennsylvania (ACEC/PA), Associated Pennsylvania Constructors (APC), and his local sections of the American Society of Highway Engineers (ASHE), as well as through many of PSPE’s programs and initiatives.
Mr. Dougherty was recognized at PSPE’s Annual Conference during their Awards Ceremony on September 20th in Pittsburgh, PA. We commend Mr. Dougherty on this milestone achievement!
