On Friday, April 19th, we hosted 17 kids between the ages of 6 to 11 at our HQ in Pottstown, PA for our annual Take Our Children to Work Day festivities! Our icebreaker activity was the game “One Truth and One Lie” – we learned about each other by guessing which was the truth and which was their red herring. The day’s educational activities included lessons on civil engineering with a focus on environmental services, with hands-on work building water filtration systems in small groups and creating our own native plantings, as well as engineering pom pom shooters using cardboard tubes, masking tape, and balloons. As always, the day would not be what it is without our trusty planning team and staff members who help execute their vision, so thank you again to everyone who was involved! Great work demonstrating that engineering IS fun.. and that their parents’ jobs aren’t so lame after all 😊
