In November, TPD’s CARES group, EmpowHER, launched its first-ever community service initiative with a holiday food drive aimed at supporting local families affected by recent changes to SNAP benefits. Recognizing that women are disproportionately impacted by food insecurity, EmpowHER saw an opportunity to make a meaningful difference for women, children, and families throughout our communities.

Thanks to the incredible generosity of TPD team members, the initiative exceeded expectations and delivered much-needed support to local food assistance organizations.

Across two deliveries to Daily Bread Community Food Pantry in Collegeville, PA, and the Pottstown Cluster of Religious Communities in Pottstown, PA, TPD donated approximately 500 pounds of food, including:

  • 90 lbs. of canned vegetables
  • 85 lbs. of pasta and pasta sauce
  • 60 lbs. of Hormel meals
  • 60 lbs. of peanut butter and jelly
  • 40 lbs. of canned meats
  • 40 lbs. of soup
  • 40 lbs. of cake mix and frosting
  • 30 lbs. of SpaghettiOs
  • 20 lbs. of breakfast foods
  • 20 lbs. of snacks

In addition to the food collected, TPD employees raised monetary donations, which was evenly distributed between Second Harvest Food Bank in Nazareth, PA, and St. Francis Inn in Philadelphia, PA.

By combining both physical and financial contributions, the food drive supported four local organizations working to combat food insecurity and helped ease the burden on families during the holiday season.

This successful initiative reflects the heart of EmpowHER’s mission: empowering and uplifting others while creating positive change both within TPD and throughout the communities we serve. The overwhelming participation and generosity demonstrated by TPD employees helped establish a strong foundation for future EmpowHER service projects.

A heartfelt thank you goes to everyone who donated, organized, and helped spread the word. Your contributions made this inaugural effort a tremendous success and a meaningful source of support for local families.

Together, we made a difference.
