TPD was responsible for the Construction Management and Construction Inspection services associated with this project for the Reconstruction of River Road (CR 567). The general scope of work for this project included roadway improvements along the section of River Road, which is approximately 100 feet north of the intersection of Elm and Mill Streets, and extends north 625 feet under the railroad bridge.
River Road was widened from 22 feet to 28 feet in total width, reconstructing most of the pavement within project limits. A retaining wall was constructed along the southbound lane to alleviate embankment erosion issues between the road and the South Branch Raritan River. Additional improvements included a new four-foot-wide beam between the wall, replacement of guide rail, fencing along portions of the new wall, drainage improvements, new pipe outfalls, and erosion protection measures at the river, and other incidental work.
