TPD is pleased to welcome Colin Kinton, PE to the TPD family as a Senior Project Manager in our Asheville, North Carolina Office. Colin is looking forward to working with our clients in the areas of traffic corridor management, signal operations & design and integration of multimodal infrastructure in North Carolina, South Carolina and beyond.

Colin has over 25 years of experience in traffic and transportation engineering roles in both Tennessee and South Carolina. He most recently served as the Director of Transportation Engineering for Beaufort County, South Carolina. In this role, he oversaw management and operations of the countywide signal system, traffic engineering studies, long range transportation planning and project development. Prior to working with Beaufort County, Colin served as the Assistant City Traffic Engineer for the City of Chattanooga. He also spent time as a private consultant.

As an avid road and trail runner and a former competitive cyclist, Colin is able to integrate his personal interests into his work to help communities consider multi-modal access and safety in their transportation systems.

Colin received his Master’s degree in Engineering Management and a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Tennessee. He is a Fellow with the Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE) and a Past President of the Southern District of ITE. He holds a Traffic Signal Field Electrician Level II certification with the International Municipal Signal Association.
